Each course is spread over 6 semesters. An engineering diploma is the equivalent of 5 years of higher education after the baccalaureate: 3 years of study after a two year post-secondary course.
The first four semesters give students the opportunity to study the technical aspects and foundations of their chosen field. Students progressively improve their knowledge in their area of interest, initially by completing the standard teaching units and then by specialising in the final year of the course. During the 2 final semesters, students acquire highly specialised skills in their chosen profession.
Depending on their choice of speciality, students spend between 9 and 14 months of the 3-year course in work placements.

The apprenticeship courses are run in partnership with ITII Aquitaine, the Institut
des Techniques d'Ingénieurs de l'Industrie. (Institute of Industrial Engineering Techniques)
